Can I use Redpanda Serverless for regulated (SOC2/HIPAA) workloads?

Yes. With the launch of AWS PrivateLink, Redpanda Serverless on AWS supports fully private networking. Your data remains on the private AWS backbone network and never traverses the public internet, satisfying strict compliance and security requirements for mission-critical applications.

How is this different from Confluent Cloud's Standard or Enterprise tiers?

Redpanda offers zero compromise networking today on AWS:

vs. Confluent Cloud Standard: We include PrivateLink support as an option for all Redpanda Serverless clusters, whereas Confluent Cloud forces you to upgrade to their Enterprise serverless tier to get private networking.‍
vs. Confluent Cloud Enterprise: In Confluent Cloud Enterprise, networking is mutually exclusive. If you enable PrivateLink, they disable public access — meaning your developers need VPNs just to connect. Redpanda supports hybrid networking, allowing simultaneous public and private access on the same cluster.

Do I need a VPN to connect developers to a private Serverless cluster?

No. Unlike Amazon MSK Serverless or Confluent Cloud Enterprise, Redpanda Serverless supports hybrid networking. You can easily toggle on a secure public endpoint for your developers to test from localhost, while simultaneously keeping your production traffic isolated in a private VPC with traffic that never traverses the public internet (via AWS PrivateLink). No VPNs or jumphosts required.

How does Redpanda Serverless reduce my AWS infrastructure costs?

Many vendors (like Confluent Cloud Standard) force you to connect over the public internet. This often forces you to route traffic through an AWS NAT Gateway to secure your applications, triggering data processing fees of ~$0.045/GB. WIth AWS PrivateLink, your traffic stays entirely within the AWS private network, bypassing the need for NAT Gateways and eliminating those hidden processing costs.

Do I need an additional paid service to monitor my cluster?

No. We provide a standard Prometheus /public_metrics endpoint for every Serverless cluster. You can scrape this endpoint with your existing tools (Grafana, Datadog, etc.) to visualize throughput, latency, and storage in real-time, without being locked into a "black box" monitoring tool or paying extra API fees.

I don't see my AWS or GCP region listed. Can I still use Redpanda Serverless?

We currently support 7 major AWS regions (GA) and 1 GCP region (beta). We can often bring new regions online quickly for annual committed workloads. Please contact sales to discuss your requirements.

Yes. For mission-critical workloads, we offer support plans with guaranteed response times (SLAs). These support packages are only available for Serverless customers with an annual commitment, ensuring that your production apps have production-grade backing. Can I use my AWS committed spend (EDP) to pay for Redpanda Serverless?

Yes, specifically for Redpanda Serverless. You can subscribe to Redpanda Serverless directly through the AWS Marketplace. This allows you to consolidate your billing and burn down your existing AWS enterprise commitments.

Does Serverless feature pre-built data connectors?

Yes. We provide hundreds of data connectors, processors, and other components as part of Redpanda Connect for Serverless.
